Egypt
was known as Kemet
to the ancient Egyptians. Kemet meant 'The
Black Land' and symbolized the fertile soil that overflowed the
banks of the Nile. Because of this 'inundation', as it was called,
ancient Egyptians were able to farm enough food for everyone. Civilization
began because where
there is water, there are plants; Where the are plants there are
animals; Where there are animals there are people.
